The LV edge trimming planes may not be as pretty as the LN bronze versions...but the adjustment wheel and those handy side set screws make the LV more user friendly, imho. Having both of these planes opens another question for me which is...are people also finding a need for both L & R plow planes and skew rabbet planes??

there are a number of differences between the 243 and the 24, the 243 has a totally brushed case where as the 24 is polished with a brushed bezel. the 243 also has the 1950 .

The 243 by itself looks great, but next to the 305, the dial just looked a bit too small compared to the bezel. The 305 dial also is cleaner and in my humble opinion, just looks better! If I hadn't just buy the 359, I would totally jump on the 305. after considering the whole bunch of PAM subs from 24 -> 87 -> 243 -> 187, i finally made up my mind and pulled the trigger on the 305! it's got everything i'm looking for.. 47mm 1950 case in titanium, and a very clean dial that pays homage to the 2533.. and it wears very well and comfor.
