i did try the Cape Cod cloth on the gold bezel of my Daytona and it didn't seem to make the black numbers fade out. the bezel is a lot shinier after that treatment. but don't sue me if you make yours fade.I highly prefer the yellow “sunshine polishing cloths”. I can erase minor scratches and get a factory finish in about 5 minutes on the PCL clasp. It’s a skillset you either commit to learn or you leave it to professionals.
