Rolex vs. Omega. I own both Rolex and Omega. My personal preference is Rolex by far. But I also recognize that the difference between a modern SUB vs. Sea Master is mostly in prestige. I received a call from my AD today, out of the blue. He called and wanted to get my views on the Rolex & Tudor releases. We talked for approximately 45 minutes. I have no purchase history with this particular AD, but have had them size the bracelet on two of . I would say that those wearing a Rolex should expect a lot more attention vs the more under the radar Omega brand. Homologically they are comparable brands with rich histories but the average person would be significantly more impressed with the Rolex name. Love OF! Adds sportiness to Daytona, provides nice contrast, eliminates pcls, allows ceramic bezel option on pm, is very comfortable, and allows the Daytona to look/wear a bit larger. There are plenty of luxury pm watches on rubber now days. I love the OF so much, I bought a set for my ss daytona. Talk me out of the Air King. So, here’s my situation: I currently own a 116500 black Daytona and the Batgirl (GMT-Master II with Jubilee bracelet). I’m looking to add a third piece to my collection, and I keep finding myself drawn to the new 126900 Air King.
Since I cannot easily try on the Marinemaster, my concerns are (a) the bracelet sucks (pretty universally accepted), (b) it'll be too tall, and (c) it'll be too top-heavy . and really, (d) it'll leave me underwhelmed and wishing I'd held on to the coin for something I wanted more. Talk to me about Pelagos issues I have fallen in love with the Pelagos. However, my love has been met with disappointing news that there are a lot of QC issues with it (missing lume, misalignment, bezel hydrolock, etc).Talk about toughness 🙄. Here I was saying how tough the Rolex EXII could be inherently by its design.. Has anyone had issue with sapphire crystal edge chipping with any of their watches?
